Pilates is a complete exercise method developed by Joseph Pilates over the course of a lifetime, it is dedicated to improving both physical and mental health.
It focuses on building your body’s core strength, as well as improving your posture, through a series of low impact stretching and conditioning exercises. Core strength relates to your back, stomach and pelvic muscles. You will develop these muscles without adding bulk, and will also add to your control, power, flexibility, and agility.
Pilates also improves your body awareness and helps you appreciate how your body should move. This makes it particularly helpful for athletes and those with chronic problems who will have altered the their movements to avoid pain.
These exercises can improve your athletic performance and be very effective if applied appropriately, in helping to manage long term pain and dysfunction.
PILATES CLASSES
Our pilates classes can be done on a one to one basis, or in small group classes with no more than 7 people in each class. This ensures that we tailor your treatment to get the very best outcome. We run beginners and intermediate classes to take you to a level of function beyond your average class and we can guarantee you the very best levels of attention. This can be almost impossible at other venues.
If you’re interested in our Pilates classes, please call us and we’d be happy to discuss your needs.
